What is it?

Is a procedure that removes specific deposits of fat by the use of a suction technique. Fat obtained can be injected into places that need volume increased like buttocks, chin and lips. Sometimes is used in combination with other surgical procedures.

This procedure is done in patients with a stable body weight that have too much body fat in specific areas of the body.

Duration: 2 to 4 hours.
Anesthesia: General.
Hospitalization: This procedure is ambulatory, but when used in combination with other techniques, may require 1 or 2 days of hospitalization.
Side effects: Pain the first week after the procedure.
Recovery: 10 days to 2 weeks.
Exercise: 4 to 6 weeks.
Total recovery: 4 to 6 months.
