What is it?
Augmentation mammoplasty or breast augmentation, is a procedure to increase the size of the breast using implants, which are placed usually behind the pectoral muscle through a small incision in the areola for to achive a better shape or improve breast asymmetry.
Is a procedure that can also restore breast volumen after pregnacy or major weight loss.
Duration: 1-2 hours.
Anesthesia: General.
Hospitalization: Usually ambulatory.
Side Effects: Temporary pain or swelling. There may be a transiently decreased sensation in the nipples.
Mammography requires a particular technique but it can be done for anual screening without problem.
Recovery: 1 week.
Exercise: Depends the type of activity. This will be discussed in your consultation.
Physical contact: 1 month.
